Eliminate the risk and disruption of working at height with a lighting winch system. Designed to make almost anything that operates at a high level fully accessible for maintenance and enhanced functionality. Accessing a suspended fixture becomes a 5-minute, hassle-free task.
✔ Safety locking device
✔ Wireless remote control (optional)
✔ IP54 ingress protection rated (option to increase to IP65)
✔ Pre-wired terminals
✔ Lighting power capacity 1 circuit, 16 amp
✔ M-range models accommodate additional circuits (CT-12M, CT-15M)
Self-contained winch systems are most commonly used in warehouse lighting winch applications. However, they are suitable for a wide range of high bay applications including airports, school halls, sports centres, and factories. The challenge of accessing objects suspended at height is not limited to lighting fixtures. A lighting winch can be used to suspend a vast range of assets:
✔ Warehouse lighting
✔ Artwork
✔ Signage and banners
✔ CCTV
✔ Sensor units
✔ Speakers
✔ Climate control equipment
✔ Retail outlets
Penny Engineering provide a full installation and technical support service. From risk assessments and inspection to quality documentation and annual maintenance, our dedicated team are on hand to work closely with project stakeholders.
This fully automated safety feature engages when the light fitting is at high level rest and is designed to eliminate the risk of human error. Simply press the ‘Up’ button until the winch system is docked and mechanically locked-off at high level. Safety locking jaws mate to the lowering part of the winch and relieve the motor and wire rope from tension.
When the suspended object is lowered to ground level, it is fully isolated during cleaning and maintaining for user safety. Spring-loaded contact plates connect the upper and lower sections of the winch. When connected, the plates form an electrical connection between the main lighting supply and the light fitting suspended. When lowered, the winch automatically initiates an internal relay that isolates the electrical supply. When the winch is fully raised, the relay returns power.
✔ Wireless control with up to 100m range (recommended)
✔ Hardwired control such as wall mounted (IP67 rated).
✔ Reduced risk of injury – eliminate the need to work at height
✔ Reduced downtime – simple operation. No need for costly, time-consuming access equipment
✔ Safe to use
✔ Mechanical lock acts as the secondary support to the winch rope
✔ Electrical feed is automatically isolated when system is lowered
✔ Electric systems utilise overload protection

Lighting winch systems are subject to LOLER – Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations. A dedicated support service ensures our customers can fulfil their duty of care to employees. All products comply with best practice guidelines by eliminating the need to work at height and ensuring that the suspended load has two means of support.
All lighting winch systems are tested and certificated to LOLER regulations with service packages to ensure the continuation of compulsory annual checks. Although our systems are most commonly used for lighting fittings such as chandeliers, high mast, and warehouse lighting, they can also be used for other items such as menu-boards, artwork, and speakers.
We are fully accredited to ISO9001, are UVDB (Utilities Vendor Database) registered and Safe Contractor Approved. Our site engineers are registered under the Construction Skills Certification Scheme ensuring good working practices are established and maintained well beyond the lifespan of the project.
