The collaboration between CSE Catering and Equipment Hire and Penny Engineering began in December 2021 when CSE approached us to enquire about a mezzanine lift. CSE was recommended to Penny Engineering by various stakeholders, due to our professional attitude and flexibility in working around their schedules.
The primary challenge for CSE was the lack of space; located in a remote area, moving was not a viable option. To optimise their existing space, they decided to install a mezzanine floor but needed a lift to fully utilise this new area, as their catering equipment, while easy to move on wheels, required a lift for effective storage on the mezzanine floor.
After several consultations with CSE, discussing the types of equipment they planned to store on the mezzanine which included a range of cookers, tables and fridges, along with their stunning crockery and tableware. Penny Engineering proposed the installation of a Mezz Pro with a bespoke platform 2000mm x 1500mm and a 400kg maximum working load. This solution was designed to meet CSE’s specific requirements, ensuring the correct weight capacity and platform size.
The installation of the Mezzanine Floor Goods Lift allowed CSE to nearly double their working floor space without incurring the costs associated with new buildings, moving, or business disruption. This significant improvement in space efficiency has enabled CSE to continue expanding within its existing premises, avoiding the need for relocation and additional business rate expenditure.
The successful implementation of the lift has positioned CSE for further growth, with the mezzanine floor and lift combination providing a scalable solution to their space constraints.
