The collaboration between KBF Enterprises and Penny Engineering commenced in August 2023. KBF, having moved into new premises, sought to expand its production capacity. The project involved installing three Heavy Duty Mezzanine Floor Goods Lifts, including two pallet lifts and one bespoke Hopper lift, tailored to accommodate larger hoppers. The project aimed to optimise production efficiency while navigating space constraints within the production area.
KBF faced several challenges, including the need to triple production in a confined space and eliminate the use of forklift trucks to enhance employee safety. Additionally, the tight space between production lines necessitated careful planning to ensure seamless integration of the lifts without disrupting workflow.
After several site meetings to discuss the best position and specification of the lifts and a thorough final site survey, Penny Engineering proposed the installation of three Mezzanine Floor Goods Lifts tailored to KBF’s specific requirements. This included one Mezz HD Lift with a bespoke 1650×1650 platform to accommodate larger hoppers and two standard Mezz HD Lifts with 1500×1500 platforms for pallets.
The installation of the Mezzanine Floor Goods Lifts enabled KBF to triple its production capacity within the allocated space while enhancing employee safety by eliminating the need for forklift trucks. This significant improvement in efficiency has positioned KBF for further growth and expansion.
With the successful implementation of the Goods Lift project, KBF is considering expanding to additional units to further increase production capacity and sustain business growth.
